Jacó luta com Deus. E vence!!!

This passage from the Old Testament is one of the most enigmatic and fascinating!!! A human physically fighting with God, but for a very noble cause: he wanted to be BLESSED!

There's a very good old phrase that fits like a glove over any confused understanding of this biblical passage: God is not a God of confusion!!! His words and actions are always clear and easy to understand.

So a basic interpretation of this ancient story is that the struggle is a metaphor for God's search for man, sometimes going through a painful phase.

Therefore, if you have something to ask for that is just, noble and that will build you up, or someone you know or don't know, seek God with all your strength, with commitment, dedication and faith. Physical struggle is just an easy way of understanding that our daily struggles can be solved or alleviated by God, but He wants our effort in this request (or "struggle") to (with) Him - just as Jacob put his effort into struggling through the dawn until the sunrise, even after he was bruised and sore.

Jacob, even though he was a deceiver, humbly acknowledged his mistake, begging (struggling) for God's help and blessings in his life.

Remember Jesus' parable about the persistent widow who went to the door of an unjust judge day and night to ask him to do justice (Luke 18:1-7). The judge granted her justice because of her insistence. If an unjust judge accepts someone's perseverance for something just, then imagine our Eternal God who is infinitely just and merciful?!!!

GOD WANTS US TO FIGHT FOR LIFE AND FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE
