Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso: a harbinger of Fatima and over 400 years of prophecies being fulfilled

Do the following exercise : imagine yourself in the year 1594, 426 years ago, a period in which electricity had not even appeared. Do you think anyone from that time could believe that it would be possible to take a screen out of their pocket (i.e., cell phone) and see profound immorality of the most varied types? Or even see it on a screen stuck on the wall or on the table (i.e. television, computer); or even that people would be shamelessly doing "dances" everywhere? Well, these absurd immoralities, among others, were predicted by Our Lady of Bom Sucesso more than four centuries ago, in addition to countless other prophecies that were fulfilled over the centuries, many of them being similar to her apparitions in Fátima, Portugal, and in Akita, Japan.

The first appearances 

This apparition of Our Lady took place in Quito, capital of Ecuador, on February 2, 1594 for Sister Mariana de Jesus Torres, who from her childhood had contact with the supernatural of God, preparing her for the future messages of our Mother. Finally, on a day of strong prayer to heal the wounds that afflicted her church and community, she heard a voice calling her by name.  He lifted his eyes and saw Mary in the midst of a huge light, carrying the Child Jesus on his left arm and a baculum of gold in his right hand, saying to her:

"I am Mary of Good Success, Queen of Heaven and Earth. Your prayers, tears, and penances are very pleasing to our heavenly Father. I want you to strengthen your heart and that suffering doesn't take you down. Your life will be long for the glory of God and his Mother, who speaks to you. My Most Holy Son presents you with pain in all its forms. And to infuse you with the value you need, take Him from my arms into yours." 

Mariana took the Child God in her arms and felt an even greater passion for sharing her suffering with God, suffering for the redemption of humanity and becoming a martyr. Our Lord, on another occasion, asks her if she would like to receive the crown of glory or the crown of thorns and suffer for humanity. She chooses the crown of thorns! In the years that followed, the seer went through great suffering. Like other lay people elected by Jesus, she also receives His stigmas, which accompanied her to her deathbed.

The image made by angels 

In another apparition to Mariana, Our Lady asks her to make an image as she saw her in the apparitions, placing her on the chair of the Priora. She pointed out that in her left hand should place the Child Jesus and in her right hand a baculum with the keys of the enclosure. She stressed that the image should be its real size and that it would make great wonders through it. She also asked that the sculpture be made by Francisco del Castilho, a sculptor from the region who led a devout Christian life. He wanted nothing to charge for the work, which he said he would do with great devotion, receiving the task as a blessing from heaven. Our Lady also prophesied: "the perfection of the work runs on me. Gabriel, Miguel and Rafael will secretly take over the manufacture of my image". 

Mariana needed, then, that the image was accurate and for that she had to measure me the height of the Mother. He took the Franciscan cord that was on his waist for this task. With great fear, he said he would not be worthy to touch his head with the cord to find his height. The holy Mother with great compassion for her sister's fear held the cord over her head and she stretched it to her holy feet. Finding the measure, he passed it on to the sculptor along with indications of the features of Our Lady.

When the image was practically ready, already with the base painting applied, the sculptor went to look for the best paints to paint the last layer. However, in the early morning before the last hand of painting, when entering the church to pray the office, they came across the miracle: 

They heard angels singing "Salve Sancta Parens" under the interior of the church naturally illuminated with vivid rays coming out of the image. On the ground next to the image they saw wood scrapings next to the previously applied base paint. The image was then gradually transformed with soft and angelic traces, through hands invisible to those present at the site, except for Mariana. Under ecstasy, she saw that the sculptors were the archangels Michael, Raphael, and Gabriel, together with St. Francis, fulfilling the prophecy made earlier to her that the angels would realize the perfection of sculpture.

When he came across the image finished supernaturally, del Castilho made a note stating that he was not the author of such a divine work, but of the angels of God, which is different from the one he had done. It became more proof of the miracle. 

Nowadays there are reports that the image changes sharply in weight, becoming light as a cushion or heavy as lead. Additionally there are testimonials and photos of the change of the features of the image according to the acceptance or denial of Our Lady to some situation of the moment.

Prophecies for the 19th and 20th centuries 

Although this prophecy was transmitted by the Mother in the sixteenth century, she herself said that she would fall into oblivion and be hidden for centuries, being only spread in the twentieth century (and consequently to her continuum in this 21st century), when the corruption of customs would reach alarming levels, with the consequent loss of faith.  There would still be great physical and moral calamities in this future, as well as public and private. Then would arise the need to invocation of Our Lady of Good Success to sustain and safeguard the faith in these difficult times that would arise in which many would become indifferent to God. The fulfillment of prophecies over the centuries occurred with great accuracy, which is no longer supposed to ask any questions about the validity of this particular apparition to the seer Mariana. Here are the prophecies already fulfilled:

1. Ecuador would become independent and cease to be a colony; 
2. An effectively Christian president (Garcia Moreno) will emerge in Ecuador who will be martyred (he was assassinated when elected for his third term); 
3. Proclamation of the dogma of the faith of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption of Our Lady; 
4. Decay of the clergy in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and emergence of a model priest to be followed: the Holy Cura D'ars (Saint João Maria Vianney); 
5. Canonization of Mother Beatriz Silva.

Additionally, there are other prophecies that have already been fulfilled and are in progress, being seen their consequences until the present day of this 21st century, these being:

1. Expansion of heresies and sects - would reach homes and the church itself, as well as all areas of human activities. Consequently, many priests would distance themselves from their sacred duties; but there would always be good souls, especially religious ones, who would devote themselves to Her and to God; 
2. Emergence of the spirit of impurity and widespread apostasy - which would saturate the entire atmosphere of society, with a wide corruption of customs. The institution of marriage would be attacked in every way, giving rise to generations without the blessings of baptism and confirmation; 
3. Loss of childish innocence and modesty of women - generated by sects immersed in society and corruption of customs. Consequently, many vocations to the priesthood have ceased to materialize through the disdirection of children. 
4. Almost total loss of virgin souls as a result of the fulfillment of the above-mentioned prophecies 
5. Little value would be given to the sacraments of Communion and to the Anointed of the Sick (formerly Extreme Anointion, a sacrament so important to help the salvation of the souls of the dying). 
6. Martyrdom of the small number who would struggle with prayer, reparation and penance, guarding the faith. They will be counted as martyrs, for their sacrifices for the homeland and for the church. 
7. Triumph of the church. When all seems lost, the complete restoration will come! Then the church will rise and triumph in the hands of Jesus (i.e. the Triumph of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, as prophesied also at Fatima).

In 1634, Our Lady to the Child Jesus, accompanied by the three archangels, made their last appearance to Mother Mariana de Jesus, announcing that she would die. The body of Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres remains unwell after her death more than 400 years ago. The process of beatification of the Mother was begun in 1986.

Also help you spread this devotion to Our Lady of Good Success. Our Mother, in her apparitions, ensured that those who propagated it in the twentieth century (consequently also in the 21st century, because we are still experiencing her prophecies) would have their protection and a success in their battles, that is, success.  However, for this we must fight with prayer and penance, as She asked and will repeat this more than 400 years later in her appearance at Fatima. Let us be part of Mary's army as apostles of late times. Let us also remember, the Mother has already prophesied that she will win, crush Satan's head, and triumph with her Son Jesus.
