God's providence in our lives is a reality, and it can be through angels or in countless ways. St. John Bosco had very clear examples of divine providence D His size and characteristics even resembled a wolf. He protected him for almost 30 years (much longer than the age of any dog!) in certain dangerous situations and later went away. Or is this dog your angel?! Angels can take various forms, human or even animals.
Don Bosco, like every good saint, was very persecuted and even suffered many death threats. I once intended to leave the house late at night with some acquaintances. His mother scolded him for being home because the schedule was advanced and the street was dangerous. But he insisted that everything was fine, nothing would happen. Now follow the proof that mother's advice does not err!
Finally they left, but right in front of the house was a dog lying on a gray dog, which had already freed him from danger in other situations. Said then: look mother, we will be well accompanied, the grigio (gray in Italian) appeared and will come with us, get up!
But the dog refused to get up and growled fiercely as they tried to lift it. Don Bosco then soon understood that he should not really leave the house and listen to his mother. After some time a neighbor called him and told him not to leave the house, for there was a bunch of evildoers looking for him to kill him!
In another situation, walking alone, he noticed being chased by two men. It changed the route of the walk, but the subjects maintained their meaning. Suddenly they approached trying to throw a cloth over his face. With an elbow he got rid of one of them, but the fight would be very hard, probably deadly, and he invokes God in his heart.
Suddenly grigio appeared, jumping and biting them, casting still terrifying redheads, like a bear. The bandits begged Don Bosco to ask the dog to stop the attack. Said the Saint: Come here! The dog came along with him and subjects then ran on the run. Gray accompanied him home.
The last mysterious appearance of the dog during the life of the saint was when walking to the house of a friend accompanied by a priest. But the nightfall took them by surprise. At the dawn of the last thread of sunshine, he thought:
How nice it wouldn't be if my friend Grigio showed up now! The dog suddenly appears to party with joys on them, accompanying them to their friend's house.
They dined and went to feed the puppy then, who had stayed asleep in the living room alone. But again the dog had disappeared without giving signs, even with all the doors and windows of the house closed.
Until after his death the dog proved protective, when the urn with the remains of St. John Bosco was taken from Turin to Rome. When they arrived with the urn in the church where mass would be prayed, a gray dog was already waiting for her at the door and lay under the urn where she was placed and did not leave, growling as they approached him. When the urn left for its final destination, the dog mysteriously disappeared!
